Difficult Emotions in Mindful Practice

What do you do when fear, sadness, anger or shame show up in your meditation time? Are there harmful or bad emotions? This two hour workshop will explore what happens when we are triggered by strong emotions and provide techniques that will allow us to become more nimble with our feeling states, allowing us to move forward both on and off the cushion. 

NOTE: Participants may also register for the Restorative Yoga Nidra session being held at 1PM on this same day, providing an additional opportunity to restore resilience. 

Led by Julie Brown, LPC. Julie is a Vanderbilt trained counselor with over twenty years experience working with mindfulness and all the feeling states. She has a full time private practice in Chattanooga.  In addition, she leads biannual workshops for the Center on dealing with emotions during mindfulness practice and currently facilitates our monthly meditation on feelings called Riding Your Inner Waves.
