Mindfulness 101 (formerly Mindfulness for Beginners) is a 4-week program consisting of four 75 minute classes offering simple, easy to understand instruction in the basic elements of mindfulness meditation. This course is an ideal entry point for anyone who has an interest in learning mindfulness meditation in a relaxed, no-pressure environment. No previous experience is necessary to join.
Each class will include guided meditations, experiential exercises, instructive talks, and group discussion with feedback. Every week you will receive homework suggestions to help you incorporate and skillfully apply the teachings and practices covered in the class into your daily life. Once the class starts, you will receive access to a dedicated learning platform containing home practice materials which includes downloadable guided meditations.
Two decades of published research indicate that the majority of people who practice mindfulness have a greater ability to cope more effectively with both short- and long-term stressful situations. By learning to actively participate in the management of their own health and well-being, many practitioners report they are better able to manage stress, fear, anger, anxiety and depression both at home and in the workplace.
