Join us for A Day of Nurturance: Difficult Emotions in Mindful Practice + Yoga Nidra!
Julie L. Brown, a counselor with over twenty years of experience working with emotions and mindful practices, will start the morning with her Difficult Emotions in A Mindful Practice workshop from 10am to 12pm. When challenging emotions like anger, sadness, and fear arise, they can derail our intentions to care for ourselves, communicate well, and make wise decisions. This workshop will teach you a variety of techniques for staying grounded and accessing your wisdom as you ride the waves of these sacred feelings.
Afterwards, Sue Reynolds, a well-known yoga practitioner who has been bringing yoga to many people in Chattanooga since the 1970s, will guide you through a a relaxing Yoga Nidra from 1:15pm to 2:30pm. This ancient practice has been used to relax the mind into a state of receptivity where one's heartfelt intention can take root for personal transformation. The practice of “yogic sleep” is done lying down or sitting in stillness. Props will be provided for support and comfort.
You will have an hour break for lunch, so feel free to bring a lunch or stop by any of the wonderful restaurants located around us!
