Awakening the Heart of Compassion: Tibetan (Lojong) Mind Training
This event takes place on the following dates
4/26/2019 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM
4/27/2019 from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM
4/28/2019 from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM

This meditation-oriented retreat introduces the 59 slogans of Atisha, a 10th century Indian Buddhist master, whose teachings left a deep imprint on all Tibetan Buddhist lineages and are still applicable today.

You do not need to be a Buddhist or even a meditator to gain from this retreat experience. Open to ALL!

The Lojong slogans remind us to pause and observe our mind and heart when we experience our everyday challenges. These teachings help us to connect to our world in a more positive way, and by using the meditation technique of intentional breath work, we can bring a gentle awareness to our habitual reactions when we feel threatened or fearful. The practical meditations and teaching of this retreat can be used every day in our lives, especially with those people and situations that challenge us the most!

Sample Lojong Slogans include:
- Maintain an awareness of the preciousness of human life.
- Be grateful to everyone.
- Don’t ponder others.
- Always meditate on what causes resentment.
- Don’t expect applause.
