SATYA Training: Mind-Body Movement
Explore the richness of the relationship between your mind and your body. The focus of this class will be to create new motor responses, new habits and new patterns of neural flow, using Sensory Awareness Training for Yoga Attunement (SATYA). SATYA is a system developed by Tias Little which incorporates principles of Feldenkrais, Thomas Hanna’s Somatics and meditation.
Through this practice, one learns to reconnect with the source of one’s vitality, anima and spirit. The gentle movements are designed to aid in the restoration of sensory motor awareness between the brain and the neuro-muscular systems. This practice can be extremely helpful for those suffering from chronic pain, anxiety or other problems that can cause us to 'disconnect' from our bodies. It is also popular with yoga practitioners seeking to deepen their yoga practice. It is designed to bring flexibility, strength and balance for overall well-being.
This is a series of four, one hour classes led by Anthony Crutcher. These classes are gentle and suitable for all.
